It's the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day today. From clean needles to safe sex, the fight against AIDS has touched everyone's life. How has it affected yours?

My dad's best friend died from AIDS a few years ago. He was in his mid-forties; he and my dad had been best friends since they were four years old. They were next door neighbors and they literally grew up together. I knew him as Uncle Mark. He was always a bit of a risk-taker, and lived life from day-to-day, to put it mildly.

Basically, he had unprotected sex with a prostitute.

Use a condom, kids.

I love the idea of "couple costumes" for Halloween, and I had every intention of taking Kelly out on Halloween in an amazing couple costume. Unfortunately since we have no money and kind of procrastinated on the shopping, we are costume-less and probably won't be able to get anything put together in time. Our first idea was to be Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. Then we were thinking about being Mario and Princess Peach. And finally we settled on Jessie and James from Team Rocket. O_O Which would be kind of amazing. Oh well... there is always next year.
